QVMS SOFTBALL defeated South Side MS 8-7 on Friday thanks to a walk-off single.  The game was tied at seven with QVMS SOFTBALL batting in the bottom of the seventh when Berlynn Sopko singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

A five-run lead in the third inning was just enough for QVMS SOFTBALL to hold off South Side MS for the victory. 

QVMS SOFTBALL fired up the offense in the first inning.  QVMS SOFTBALL scored on a stolen base during Natalie DeGori's at bat. Then DeGori doubled.

After South Side MS scored one run in the top of the fifth, QVMS SOFTBALL answered with one of their own.  QVMS SOFTBALL then answered when Gemma Wiegand singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Olivia Hoose was credited with the victory for QVMS SOFTBALL. The bulldog lasted seven innings, allowing 11 hits and seven runs while striking out 14.

QVMS SOFTBALL collected 14 hits.  Sopko, Nora Hammond, Wiegand, and Gianna Goodman all managed multiple hits for QVMS SOFTBALL.  Wiegand, Hammond, and Sopko all had three hits to lead QVMS SOFTBALL.  QVMS SOFTBALL stole six bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Isabella Jarrett led the way with two.
