QV Junior Basketball player, Oumou (Mimi) Thiero is nominated as one of 8 MaxPreps PA Athletes of the Week for week 21. Mimi surpassed 1,000 career points with 29 (19 rebounds;  6 assists; 4 steals) in a 68-19 win over Sto-Rox on 1/20.  She also had 13 points, 18 rebounds and 5 blocks in a 62-28 loss to OLSH on 1/23 and 21 points and 19 rebounds in a 47-18 win over Gateway on 1/25.  Mimi averages 21.5 points, 15.8 rebounds (45th nationally), 3.6 steals, 3.4 blocks and 3 assists per game.  Career numbers read 1,036 points, 773 rebounds, 230 blocks, 143 assists and 142 steals. 2A WPIAL WRESTLING

The QVHS Wrestling team has captured their 7th consecutive section win!!  QV has earned the right to host the first and quarter-final rounds of the WPIAL 2A Playoffs at QVHS on Wednesday, 1/30/25. Doors will open at 5PM;  Spectators may not enter the gym until 5:15PM. 6PM: Quaker Valley will wrestle the winner of Monday's pig-tail match of Elizabeth Forward and Chartiers-Houston. Freedom will wrestle South Park. After the 6PM matches, the two winners will wrestle to see who advances to the 2A WPIAL semi-finals. Ticketing:  GATE -  only $7 general admission tickets will be sold;  CASH ONLY.  ONLINE – tickets may be purchased online (service fees apply).  Adult tickets are $7; Student tickets are $5.     BRACKET

Online Registration Through Student Central (old Planet High School):   Returning athletes entering 8th through 12 grade:   After 6/1/23, you and your son/daughter will need to log into your Student Central accounts and update the forms: https://www.planeths.com/?keyword=/user/signin&schoolID=0  You do not need to create a new account for yourself or your son/daughter. If you have any questions or issues, please contact customer support at 866-448-9438 or support@bigteams.com.  Once all the forms are updated your student-athlete will need to get a new 2023-24 athletic physical. Physicals for the 2023-24 school year must be done on or after 6/1/23.  Any physical done prior to this date is acceptable as long as the medical professional who performed the exam, reviews the physical then signs and dates the new physical form with the original physical date and the date in which he/she reviewed it. &nb

Quaker Valley Athletics will now host all Pre-Participation Athletic Forms online with PlanetHS. This digital platform will allow you, and your student(s), to complete and access athletic forms via computer, tablet, or mobile phone. Quaker Valley Sports Hall of Fame 2023 On Saturday, October 14th, the Quaker Valley Sports Hall of Fame inducted six individuals and two teams into the QVSHOF. The class was recognized between the first and second quarter of our QV Home football game vs West Mifflin game on Friday, 10/13.  After a three-year hiatus, we had a record turnout of over 160 people for the banquet on 10/14 at the Edgeworth Club.  Check out our photo galleries done by John Doucette Photography. 24-25 Athletic Passes Available:  2024-2025 Athletic Event Passes now available for sale! To purchase, contact the QVHS athletic office at 412-749-6001 or johnsc@qvsd.org.  Students may also stop by the athletic office during the school day to purchase. Adult passes are $50 and student passes are $25. Make checks payable to QVSD. Passes are not valid at QVHS away games or any home or away playoff/championship game.

Quaker Valley dethrones North Catholic to win Class 3A Trib Cup

A year after seeing its three-year Trib Cup run end, Quaker Valley has ended the four-year run by North Catholic in Class 3A in the closest competition in the 2023-2024 school year. The Quakers edged the Trojans by only 40 points to claim the school’s eighth Sports Cup (fourth most) and their first in Class 3A. QV previously won four cups in 4A and three in 2A. “Always a tremendous source of pride for our student athletes and the entire athletic department as we all become one team,” Quaker Valley athletic director and boys basketball coach Mike Mastroianni said. “A big congrats to our student athletes who continue to be the driving force with their dedication and approach.” The Trib Cup is
