Every Monday, the Beaver County Times will recognize both individual athletes and teams for their impressive performances that took place in the last week of high school sports action. Here are the standout efforts from the week of August 22.
Girls Tennis
Joyce Olawaiye, Quaker Valley
In a non-section match against North Catholic on Tuesday, Olawaiye won her match 6-1, 6-1 in the team's 3-2 win over the Trojans. The Quakers then matched up against Moon on Thursday where Olawaiye won her match, defeating Ria Khazanchi 7-5, 7-5 in straight sets in the team's 4-1 loss to the Tigers.

Loren Barnes, Quaker Valley
In Quaker Valley’s two matches this week, Barnes played a major role in the team's success. In the match against Ambridge on Wednesday, Barnes got the job done, defeating Mackenzie Sutton 6-1, 6-3 in straight sets in the team's 5-0 victory. She then defeated Emma Speiss of Hampton on Thursday 7-6, 6-0 in the team's 3-2 win over the Talbots.

Olawaye and the Quakers coasted past Keystone Oaks, defeating them 5-0 on Monday. Olawayne was dominant in her match, defeating Polia Valdeva 6-0, 6-1 in straight sets.

Olawaiyne continued her great season as she defeated Cassandra Miller 6-0, 6-1 in straight sets in the team’s 4-0 win over Hopewell on Monday.
